Practically, it took forty years to fully exercise their demons. (…) If you are in Christ, you are no longer defined by what you’ve done wrong. You are defined by what Christ has done right. You are a new creation, but sometimes it takes some time for your new nature to become second nature. God can deliver you in one day, but it may take years to break old habits or build new ones. (…) Jesus came to put the past in its place – the past. We just need to leave it there. (…) Christ crucified our sin by nailing it to a cross. Don’t resurrect it!
